46 people died in 12 days

Rain and snowfall have taken a toll in HP

Rain and snowfall have wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh so far this winter season. 46 individuals have died in the state in the last 12 days as a result of the rain and snow. Not only that, but there was a loss of about Rs 49 crore as well. The loss is being assessed by the revenue department.

The majority of the 46 deaths between January 1 and January 12 were due to road accidents and falls, according to Omkar Sharma, Principal Secretary, Revenue Department. The most people have died in the district of Chamba. Twelve people have died in Chamba, six in Bilaspur, one in Hamirpur, one in Kangra, three in Kullu, five in Mandi, seven in Shimla, five in Sirmaur, three in Solan, and three in Una. He stated that 73 individuals had been injured, as well as 47 livestock. He stated that the agency is evaluating the damage and that assistance is being provided to those who are affected. This includes car accidents as well. Houses with poor foundations are also vulnerable to disaster.

11 weak buildings in the state have been fully grounded in the last 12 days, while 2 strong houses and 34 weak houses have been damaged. Aside from that, 24 cowsheds were harmed. Hundreds of roads in the state are still closed, numerous areas remain in darkness, and more than 100 drinking water projects have been impacted. The majority of the population’s difficulties in high-altitude areas are not being alleviated at the moment.
