A major fire broke out about 7 a.m. on the 18th floor of the Kamla building opposite Gandhi Hospital at Gowalia Tank in Mumbai’s Tardeo neighbourhood, injuring at least 15 people.

Officials claimed the injured were taken to three local hospitals, with five people dying at Nair Hospital, one at Kasturba Hospital, and another at Bhatia Hospital as a result of their injuries.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Minister Aaditya Thackeray stated on Saturday that he is in close contact with authorities and that rescue and cooling efforts are ongoing.
