AAP Punjab leaders staged protest in support of Arvind Kejriwal at Singhu border

Delhi Police baton-charged AAP workers, many injured including Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh

 Chandigarh, April 16: Ministers, MLAs and workers of AAP government going from Punjab to Delhi to support Arvind Kejriwal were stopped and baton charged by Delhi Police at Singhu border.

At this time, Health Minister of Punjab Government Dr. Balbir Singh and many workers had got badly injured. Minister Balbir Singh and injured AAP workers were admitted to Raja Harish Chandra Hospital Narela.

AAP ministers and MLAs along with workers sat on the road and raised slogans against the BJP government.

 Punjab Government Minister Brahm Shankar Jimpa told the media that we were stopped by the Delhi Police at the Singhu border.  Our volunteers were hit on their heads with latgis. The officer who was present there at that time ordered the policemen to lathi charge.  He said that the Modi government is adopting a completely dictatorial attitude to stop the Aam Aadmi Party.

 Minister Harjot Bains said that when our convoy reached Delhi, we were stopped by the police on the border.  When we asked them why we were stopped, no reason was given to us by any of the officials. Even after a lot of struggle, when we were not allowed to go, I somehow changed my vehicle and reached Delhi.

 Harjot Bains said that the Modi government should remember that history is witness that whenever a revolution is stopped, it gets even stronger.
