Haryana Assembly Polls: AAP to Announce Candidates by End of August

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced that it will soon reveal its candidates for the upcoming Haryana assembly elections, likely by the end of August. At a press conference, AAP’s Haryana president Sushil Gupta shared that the party is currently screening and surveying potential candidates to finalize the list. Gupta emphasized that AAP will give tickets to candidates who have strong public support. The party plans to contest all 90 assembly seats in the state.

Candidate Selection Underway

Gupta mentioned that the selection process involves gathering public feedback and conducting surveys. AAP aims to declare the candidates by August 31, ensuring that those chosen are preferred by the people. Regarding the party’s chief ministerial candidate, Gupta stated that the final decision will be made later, with input from the public, the party leadership, and the political affairs committee.

No Alliance with JJP

Responding to questions about a potential alliance with the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), Gupta dismissed the idea, criticizing the JJP for supporting the BJP during farmers' protests. He asserted that AAP would not align with such a party. Gupta claimed that the people of Haryana now see AAP as a viable alternative, especially with growing dissatisfaction toward the BJP. He pointed out issues like unemployment, drug abuse, and poor law-and-order under the current government, leading to widespread public frustration.
