Adani Green Energy: Pioneering India's renewable revolution

Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) achieved a significant milestone by commissioning 2,000 MW of solar capacity at the Khavda solar park in Gujarat. This accomplishment makes AGEL the first company in India to surpass 10,000 MW of renewable energy capacity. AGEL now boasts an operating portfolio of 10,934 MW, the largest in India.

Leading India's renewable energy sector

AGEL's operational portfolio includes 7,393 MW of solar, 1,401 MW of wind, and 2,140 MW of wind-solar hybrid capacity. This substantial capacity will power more than 5.8 million homes and prevent approximately 21 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.

AGEL's Chairman, Gautam Adani, expressed pride in this achievement, emphasizing their commitment to a greener future. He announced the company's ambitious target of achieving 45 GW of renewable energy by 2030. The Khavda solar park, with a planned 30,000 MW capacity, is a monumental step towards this goal.

Sustainable operations and future plans

AGEL's operating portfolio is certified 'single-use plastic free', 'zero waste-to-landfill', and 'water positive for plants with more than 200 MW capacity'. The Khavda plant, built on 538 square kilometers, is a vast project, five times the size of Paris and nearly as large as Mumbai.

AGEL has rapidly operationalized 2,000 MW of solar capacity within just 12 months of starting work at Khavda. Leveraging various capabilities within the Adani Group, including Adani Infra, Adani New Industries Limited, and Adani Infrastructure Management Services Ltd., the company continues to drive progress towards a sustainable and renewable energy future.

This significant milestone underscores AGEL's commitment to clean, reliable, and affordable energy and its pivotal role in India's transition towards renewable sources.
