In Delhi, an IED was discovered in an abandoned backpack and was detonated by a bomb squad.

On Friday, an IED (improvised explosive device) was discovered in East Delhi's bustling Ghazipur Flower Market. "An IED has been recovered based on the information received," stated Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana. 

The National Security Guard (NSG) detonated an IED discovered at the Ghazipur Flower Market in a controlled explosion.

An improvised explosive device (IED) is a "homemade" bomb and/or destructive device used to destroy, incapacitate, annoy, or distract, according to the US Department of Homeland Security. 

Criminals, vandals, terrorists, suicide bombers, and rebels all utilise IEDs.
After an unsecured bag was discovered in the area, a bomb disposal squad and Delhi police personnel were dispatched to Ghazipur Flower Market.

Officials from the Special Cell and the National Security Guard, an elite counter-terrorism agency, were also summoned. A number of fire units were also dispatched to the scene.The market had been cleared out, and the surrounding area had been sealed off.
