Disruption at football game
An Alabama high school band director faced a shocking incident and subsequent arrest in Birmingham. The director of Minor High School's band was arrested following a football game against Jackson-Olin High School. He now faces charges of disorderly conduct, harassment, and resisting arrest.
The incident occurred when police attempted to clear the stadium after the game. Authorities requested both bands to cease their performances to facilitate crowd dispersal. The Jackson-Olin band complied with this request, but the director of the Minor High School band did not.
Despite police instructions, the band director continued instructing his students to play. When officers, along with school security personnel, moved to arrest him for disorderly conduct, a scuffle ensued. The band director resisted arrest by refusing to place his hands behind his back and even pushed an officer. In response, an officer deployed a stun gun to subdue him.
The band director received medical attention and was later taken to a hospital for evaluation. Following this, he was booked into jail but subsequently released on bail.
