Arrested Maharashtra Minister's Daughter says Some Superheroes don’t wear capes.
After his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday, Nilofer Malik, daughter of Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik, stated that some superheroes don't wear capes; they're called dad.
In a money laundering probe linked to the activities of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his aides, the ED detained Nawab Malik after questioning him for almost five hours at its office in south Mumbai's Ballard Estate district.
Later, the 62-year-old NCP leader was brought before special Judge R N Rokade, who remanded him in ED custody until March 3 for further investigation.
Nilofer Malik, who was waiting outside the courthouse when the minister was taken in, had a brief encounter with her father.
Nilofer couldn't stop crying when the ED's vehicle transporting Mr Malik arrived at the courthouse and came to a halt. She approached the SUV, took her father's hand in hers, and hugged him after opening the door. She then kissed her father's hand and showed her support by raising her clinched fist.
A video of the touching exchange between the father and daughter was later shared on social media. Mr Malik's second daughter was also present in the courtroom for the hearing, along with Nilofer.
Nilofer Malik tweeted after her brief visit with her father, "Some superheroes don't wear capes. They're known as Dad." #NawabMalikMyHero #NawabMalik #WeStandWithNawabMalik are some of the hashtags used.
