Chandigarh administration has decided to lift the restrictions

As COVID cases decline, Chandigarh relaxes the restrictions

As coronavirus infections have begun to drop, the Chandigarh administration has decided to eliminate the city’s Covid-19 restrictions. From February 14, the administration has lifted the night curfew and allowed all schools and coaching institutes to reopen in hybrid mode with full capacity.

In a latest official announcement, the state Disaster Management Authority, UT, Chandigarh, declared that the restrictions on individual movement from 12:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. for all non-essential activities had been lifted.

The administration also stated in its order that the “Chandigarh Bird Park and Rock Garden would reopen on February 12.”

Chandigarh, in its latest official release stated that the latest order shall come into force with effect from Friday and will be applicable until further orders.

The order comes at a time when the city logged 123 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours. Chandigarh now has a total of 91,019. With one more death in the city in the last 24 hours, the city’s death toll now stands at 1,144. The number of active cases in the city was 1,011, with a total of 88,864 recoveries.

Chandigarh Corona Guidelines Updates:

• Individuals are no longer restricted from moving between the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. for all non-essential activities.

• From February 14, schools and coaching centres will be able to operate at full capacity in hybrid (online and offline) mode for all classes. The Secretary Education of the Chandigarh Administration will issue a detailed order in this regard.

• The Chandigarh Bird Park and Rock Garden will be allowed to open on February 12th, according to the decision.

• Markets, stores, apni mandis, establishments, malls, restaurants, hotels, bars, cinema halls, multiplexes, museums, sports complexes, swimming pools, gyms, spas, and health centres are all free of Covid restrictions.

• Gatherings for any purpose should be restricted to 200 persons indoors and 500 persons for outdoors.
