New Delhi: Punjabi singer Karan Aujla expressed his admiration for legendary singer Asha Bhosle after she performed his hit song “Tauba Tauba” during her concert in Dubai. The 91-year-old music icon not only sang the chartbuster but also danced to its beats, creating a memorable moment for fans. Videos of her performance went viral on the Internet on Monday morning, showcasing her timeless energy and talent.
Aujla described the event as “truly iconic” and said he felt blessed to witness a legend like Bhosle perform a song he had written. Taking to Instagram Stories, he posted a video of her performance, calling her “the living goddess of music.”
A song that inspired many
“Tauba Tauba,” released earlier this year, became a massive hit. The song, featuring Bollywood stars Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri in the movie “Bad Newz,” gained immense popularity for its catchy tune and intricate hook step choreographed by Bosco Martis. Fans’ attempts to replicate the dance moves dominated social media in 2024.
Reflecting on the song’s journey, Aujla shared, “I wrote it at 27, and she sang it at 91 better than me.” He highlighted how he came from a small village with no formal music training and how the song’s melody was created without any instrumental knowledge. Aujla’s heartfelt message emphasized his gratitude for the recognition the song has received, especially after Bhosle’s performance.
