AYUSH milestone: Chandigarh's first hospital set for 2023 opening

Chandigarh anticipates inauguration of first AYUSH Hospital in the coming year

In 2019, the UT AYUSH department allocated ₹1.5 crore for the initial construction of Chandigarh's first AYUSH hospital in Sector 34, with an additional ₹72 lakh provided later. The eagerly awaited 50-bedded facility is now projected to be inaugurated in 2024, according to Rajesh Kotecha, the secretary of the Ministry of Ayurveda.

The project's first phase, designed for 25 beds, will initially offer services in ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, and homoeopathy. The subsequent phase aims to add 25 more beds, introducing unani and siddha techniques. However, the project has faced delays since 2019, hindering its progress.
