Mamata Banerjee condemns BJP's power misuse for political gain

West Bengal's Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, has strongly criticized the BJP, accusing them of misusing central agencies and security forces to sway the upcoming elections.

West Bengal Chief Minister alleged that agencies like the NIA, Income Tax, BSF, and CISF are working at the BJP's behest, violating the Model Code of Conduct. Banerjee called on the Election Commission to intervene and ensure a fair electoral process for all parties.Banerjee also took a swipe at the Congress and CPI(M), accusing them of joining hands with the BJP in West Bengal. She warned voters against supporting these parties if they want to defeat the BJP. Banerjee emphasized that unity against the BJP was crucial for the opposition's success in the elections.

Firm stance against CAA implementation

On the contentious issue of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Banerjee reiterated her government's unwavering refusal to implement it in West Bengal. She advised residents against applying for citizenship under the CAA, arguing that it could lead to them being labeled as foreigners. Banerjee labeled the CAA as a potential threat to citizens' status and reiterated her government's commitment to protect the rights of the people.

Mamata Banerjee's statements underscore her strong opposition to what she perceives as the BJP's misuse of power, her warnings about the opposition's ties to the BJP, and her firm stance against the implementation of the CAA in her state.
