Bihar LS Elections: 56.85% turnout in fourth phase

Bihar Lok Sabha Elections witness 56.85% provisional voter turnout in fourth phase

In the fourth phase of Bihar's Lok Sabha elections, over 95.85 lakh voters across 5,398 polling stations made their voices heard, determining the fate of 55 candidates. By 5 pm, the state recorded a notable 54% voter turnout across five key constituencies.

High turnout in Begusarai and Samastipur

Begusarai emerged with the highest polling percentage at 58.40%, closely followed by Samastipur at 58.10%. Other constituencies like Darbhanga, Ujiarpur, and Munger showed substantial participation, with voter turnouts ranging from 55% to 56.63% until the scheduled 6 pm closing time.

Union Minister Giriraj Singh vies for re-election from Begusarai, facing stiff competition from CPI's Awadhesh Rai. Meanwhile, former JNU students' union president Kanhaiya Kumar shifts his focus to North East Delhi, challenging incumbent MP Manoj Tiwari of the BJP.
