Breaking News: PM Modi addresses a rally in Bijnor virtually

Due to severe weather, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first physical rally in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh was cancelled on Monday, and he would address the election meeting virtually instead.

Arrangements had been made at the Bardaman college ground in Bijnor for the prime minister’s rally but due to bad weather he could not arrive here, BJP officials said.

During the virtual Jan Chaupal Rally in Bijnor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unleashed a blow at the Samajwadi Party. “The water in the river of development in UP was stagnant. It was stagnating among the fake Samajwadis and their close ones,” said the prime minister.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the development projects of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP’s double-engine’)’s government on Monday, saying that when the country celebrates its 100th year of independence, UP will be ready with a big success of growth. “We have big plans for Uttar Pradesh,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked.

Modi continued his criticism on SP at a virtual rally after his visit to Bijnor was cancelled due to bad weather. “These people never had anything to do with the thirst of the development of common man, the thirst of progress, the thirst of freedom from poverty,” he added.

“All they did was to keep quenching their own thirst and that of their close ones. They kept quenching the thirst of their own coffers. This selfish thirst soaks all streams of the river of development,” the PM said.

The prime minister began his speech by apologizing to the residents of Bijnor for being unable to campaign in person due to weather circumstances. He stated that his helicopter was unable to leave and that he would have to conduct a poll campaign in virtual mode once more.

“First of all, I’d like to apologize to you. After some relaxation by the EC, I had thought of beginning my campaign by coming to Bijnor (UP) in person. But due to weather conditions, my helicopter couldn’t leave and I could see you only through video conferencing once again,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi has so far addressed three virtual rallies in west UP from where the seven phased UP polls will start from February 10. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.

Bijnor has eight assembly seats, five of which are currently held by the BJP and the remaining three by the SP.

The district, which has a Dalit and Muslim population of nearly 50%, has two Lok Sabha seats, Bijnor and Nagina, both of which are held by the BSP.

Yogi Adityanath urged the people of Bijnor:

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, said on Monday that the vaccine developed in India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is “the best vaccine” in the world. Adityanath said at a gathering in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, saying it was past time for voters to reject those who called the COVID-19 vaccination the “BJP vaccine.”

“Due to inclement weather, PM was unable to attend the function. However, the Prime Minister will speak to us virtually “As he urged voters to vote for the BJP’s ‘double-engine’ government, Adityanath stated.
