Blinkit starts 10-minute ambulance service in Gurgaon

Blinkit launches 'Ambulance in 10 Minutes' Service, Gurgaon becomes first city to benefit

Residents of Gurgaon now have access to a fast ambulance service launched by Blinkit. The service guarantees that an ambulance can reach your doorstep in just 10 minutes during emergencies. Albinder Dhindsa, Blinkit’s CEO, announced this unique initiative, marking the company’s entry into emergency healthcare logistics.

The service starts with five ambulances operating in Gurgaon. Blinkit plans to expand this offering to more areas soon. Users will have the option to book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance directly through the Blinkit app.

“This is our first step in addressing the issue of delayed ambulance services in urban areas,” said Dhindsa in a detailed post on X (formerly Twitter). “Providing quick and reliable emergency care is essential, and this service aims to solve that critical problem,” he added.

Features of the ambulance service

Each ambulance is equipped with essential life-saving tools such as oxygen cylinders, defibrillators, stretchers, monitors, emergency medicines, and injections. A trained paramedic and an assistant will accompany the driver to ensure the patient receives immediate care while being transported to a hospital.

Dhindsa emphasized that the goal of this service is not profit. Instead, Blinkit aims to operate it at an affordable cost and invest in solving the critical issue of emergency transportation. The company intends to gradually scale up the service to all major cities over the next two years.

Expansion plans and costs

While the CEO did not disclose the exact cost for users, he assured that the service would remain affordable. Blinkit plans to roll out this facility in other cities after ensuring its effectiveness in Gurgaon.

This ambulance initiative is part of Blinkit’s broader strategy to diversify its services. Earlier this week, the company also introduced a new fleet of electric vehicles designed for large orders, currently operational in Delhi and Gurgaon. These vehicles are meant for delivering bulk items like electronics and party supplies.

Dhindsa expressed his commitment to expanding innovative services that address real-world problems effectively.

Blinkit’s new venture has the potential to save lives by reducing response times in critical situations. With plans to expand and maintain affordability, the company is setting a new benchmark in the emergency healthcare sector.
