Chandigarh grapples with first seasonal fog, disrupts air and rail travel

Dense fog strikes Chandigarh, disrupting air and rail traffic in season's inaugural episode

Chandigarh faced its first dense fog of the season, disrupting air and rail travel. The Chandigarh-Delhi morning flight was canceled, while another flight from Pune was diverted to Delhi. Seven additional flights experienced delays. The morning Shatabdi Express to Delhi was also delayed by about an hour.

Visibility challenges and temperature impact

The dense fog significantly reduced visibility to 25 meters in Chandigarh, causing disruptions in the morning hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts the continuation of dense fog in the coming days. Despite the fog clearing later in the day, the night temperature saw a slight increase. Minimum temperatures in the region went up from 8.2 degrees to 8.8 degrees.
