Sartej Singh Narula elected as new High Court Bar Chief in Chandigarh

Advocate Sartej Singh Narula has been elected as the president of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association. The election was closely contested, with Narula defeating his main competitor, Ravinder Singh Randhawa, by 377 votes. The outgoing president, Vikas Malik, finished third.

Narula, who has been practicing law since 1989, secured 1,781 votes, while Randhawa got 1,404 votes. Malik, the previous president, managed only 816 votes.

Apart from the president, other key positions in the High Court Bar Association were also filled. Advocate Nilesh Bhardawaj was elected as the vice-president, while advocate Gagandeep Jammu became the secretary. Advocate Bhagyshri Setia and advocate Harvinder Singh Mann were elected as the joint secretary and treasurer, respectively.

Ashok Chauhan wins Chandigarh Bar Elections

In another significant election, advocate Ashok Chauhan won the post of president of the Chandigarh District Bar Association (DBA). He secured 991 votes, defeating Sunil Toni by 107 votes. Toni, a former president, received 884 votes.

Advocate Sandeep Gujjar was elected vice-president, while advocate Amrish Sharma became the secretary. Ujjwal Bhasin secured the position of treasurer.

A total of 2,248 members participated in the Chandigarh DBA elections. The voting process began at 9:30 am, and results were announced late at night, after 11:30 pm.

Rakesh Kumar Sharma becomes Panchkula DBA President

In the Panchkula District Bar Association (DBA) elections, advocate Rakesh Kumar Sharma was elected as the president. He narrowly won against Satish Kumar Kadian, securing 508 votes, while Kadian got 504 votes.

Omparkash Mahour won the post of vice-president with 558 votes, defeating Jeevan Singh Saini, who got 454 votes. Advocate Kulvir Singh Saini was elected as secretary, receiving 659 votes against Amit Kumar Goel’s 353 votes.

For the treasurer’s position, Ravinder Kumar secured 517 votes, defeating Bhagwan Das (420 votes) and Sanjeev Kumar Mehra (75 votes). A total of 1,012 votes were cast in the election.

These elections saw intense competition, with many experienced lawyers contesting for leadership roles.
