Congress MLA Madan Singh Bisht booked for creating ruckus at college director's residence in Uttarakhand

Congress MLA Madan Singh Bisht from Dwarahat has been booked by the police for allegedly causing a disturbance at the residence of the director of a local engineering college and using abusive language towards him. The incident took place on Saturday night and resulted in the MLA facing charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including criminal intimidation and house trespass.

Charges against the MLA

Bisht has been booked under IPC sections 506 (criminal intimidation), 452 (house trespass to cause hurt), 427 (mischief causing damage), and 504 (insult and provocation). The complaint against him was filed by KKS Mer, the Director of the Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology.

Alleged ruckus and misbehavior

According to the complaint filed by Mr. Mer, MLA Bisht, along with his associates, created a commotion outside the director's house, even in the presence of Mer's wife and daughter. Mr. Mer also expressed concern for the safety of his family and requested protection in his complaint.

MLA's version of events

Bisht, in response, lodged a counter complaint, alleging that the engineering college director had violated protocol by not responding to his repeated telephone calls. He claimed to have had inquiries regarding mess employees, security personnel, and daily wage workers at the engineering college, but his attempts to reach out to Mr. Mer went unanswered.

The situation remains under investigation by the police, and as of now, no FIR has been filed in response to the MLA's counter complaint. The matter has garnered attention due to the involvement of a public representative and the allegations exchanged between the MLA and the college director.
