Man Utd to face Aston Villa in the Premier League
CR7 isn’t in the squad against Aston Villa
Cristiano Ronaldo has been ruled out with a hip flexor injury, according to Ralf Rangnick. Ronaldo did not play in the FA Cup triumph over Villa on Monday night, but he had been training this week in preparation for the trip to Villa Park.
However, the German stated before of that game that Ronaldo would be unable to practice on Friday ahead of Saturday’s meeting. “Unfortunately, it’s still the same problem with Cristiano’s hip flexor. He was unable to train yesterday, and I spoke with him before and after training. “We concluded after training that it wouldn’t make sense for him to come here if he wasn’t feeling entirely fit. It makes sense for him to receive treatment at home, and he should be fit to play against Brentford on Wednesday,” Rangnick told MUTV.
With Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay suspended and Marcus Rashford out of the squad entirely due to injury, Alex Telles, Nemanja Matic, and Anthony Elanga have been brought in, but it was Ronaldo’s departure from the squad that was the most noticeable from the team news.
