Dharambir wins Gold in Paris, realizes his Mentor’s dream

At the Paris Paralympics, Dharambir's gold in the F51 club throw fulfilled his mentor Amit Kumar Saroha’s dream. Dharambir’s impressive throw of 34.92 meters set a new Asian record and earned him the top spot on the podium. This historic win not only marked a personal achievement for Dharambir but also realized a long-held dream for Saroha.

Saroha, who finished last in the same event, was overjoyed to see his student achieve what he couldn’t. The veteran athlete, who has competed for over a decade, found immense satisfaction in Dharambir's success. “I have won every medal in our sport except a Paralympic medal. Now, through Dharambir, I am living that dream,” Saroha said from Paris.

Dharambir dedicated his win to Saroha, acknowledging his mentor’s constant support and guidance. “His blessings have been with me since day one, and that’s why I won this medal,” Dharambir noted. Saroha’s influence on Dharambir’s career has been profound; he introduced Dharambir to the sport in 2014 and has been a constant presence in his training.
