Another feat of Mann Govt; doubled the posts of VOs to 418 reduced during Congress regime

Fulfilling its yet another commitment to provide maximum employment opportunities to the youth of the state, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab government has hit another milestone by doubling the posts of Veterinary Officers (VOs) to 418 in the Animal Husbandry Department. The recruitment process for these posts has been completed and appointment letters will be given to eligible candidates soon.
Giving further details, Animal Husbandry Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, on Thursday, said that 353 posts of Veterinary Officers in the department were reduced to 200 by the previous Congress government, due to which the work of the department was bound to be affected.
"Immediately after taking over in the state, the Mann government considered the case of these posts, which were increased from 200 to 418", said the Minister, adding that the recruitment process for the posts of VOs has been completed through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) and the appointment letters will be given soon to the eligible candidates.
Mr. Bhullar said that as many as 152 Veterinary Inspectors (VIs) have been recruited in the Animal Husbandry Department recently, who are performing their duties in different districts. Besides this, the department has issued an advertisement for the recruitment of 60 more Veterinary Inspectors. The officials have already been instructed to complete the recruitment process for these posts at the earliest, he added.
The Animal Husbandry Minister said, the Mann government was committed to provide maximum employment opportunities for the youth and till date more than 21,000 government jobs in various departments have already been provided in the state.
