ED raids on fake Concert Tickets for Diljit, Coldplay
ED raids across 5 States over fake ticket sales for Diljit Dosanjh, Coldplay Concerts
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has initiated a significant operation across five states—Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Bangalore—to investigate illegal ticket sales for Coldplay and Diljit Dosanjh's concerts. The search follows multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) filed in various locations against individuals allegedly involved in selling counterfeit tickets and inflating ticket prices.
Concert demand leads to scams
Coldplay’s "Music of the Spheres World Tour" and Diljit Dosanjh’s "Dil-Luminati" tour have created huge excitement, quickly selling out on platforms like Bookmyshow and Zomato Live. The high demand led to black-market ticket sales at inflated prices, with many fans falling victim to scams. In response, Bookmyshow filed an FIR against several suspects, accusing them of providing fake tickets and overcharging eager concertgoers.

ED’s investigation underway
The ED is investigating the case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) of 2002, focusing on the financial networks behind these scams. They have conducted searches at over 13 locations, seizing evidence like mobile phones, laptops, and SIM cards allegedly used to facilitate the ticket scams. Investigators revealed that scammers promoted these fake tickets through platforms such as Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram.
Diljit Dosanjh’s India tour is set to continue with performances across major cities, while Coldplay is scheduled to perform in Mumbai on November 18, 19, and 21. ED’s ongoing operation aims to curb further fraudulent activities and ensure fans' safety during these anticipated concerts.
