Police recently dismantled a sophisticated drug trafficking operation by apprehending Damanpreet, a former student of Punjabi literature at Panjab University, Chandigarh. Operating across Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Kalka, Damanpreet orchestrated a methodical system where he procured drugs from dealers in border districts without upfront payments.

Operation and modus operandi:

Damanpreet utilized his network and reputation to procure drugs, which he then sold to known addicts, keeping a portion of the profits. The dealers initially supplied small amounts of drugs, gradually increasing the quantity based on sales performance. Despite undergoing drug rehabilitation in 2020, financial pressures allegedly drove Damanpreet back into drug trafficking to support his family.

Following intel on Damanpreet's activities, police apprehended him at a checkpoint in Manimajra, seizing 8 grams of heroin during the arrest. Initially providing false identity details, he eventually confessed to his involvement after prolonged interrogation. Damanpreet, who has a criminal record including theft and drug-related cases, was remanded for further investigation following a court appearance.

Family and background:

Residing in Kurali with his in-laws, Damanpreet's wife is a dentist, and they have two daughters. Despite his criminal history and struggles with addiction, Damanpreet's case highlights the complex interplay of personal challenges and criminal behavior, impacting both his life and those around him.
