Routes to be open Vanaz to Garware College and Pimpri to Phugewadi.
From Mar 6, Pune Metro will operate on two routes
PUNE From March 6, two Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha-Metro) routes in the city will be open to the public: Vanaz to Garware College and Pimpri to Phugewadi.
“Both the routes will be operational for public usage once Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurates the routes on March 6,” Maha-Metro officials stated. The majority of the route construction has been completed, with the exception of a few minor works on the Vanaz route, which will be completed prior to the inauguration.”
On January 6, the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) approved the Pimpri-Phugewadi station, and on February 10, the Vanaz-Garware college route was inspected. Officials expect it to receive a certificate in a few days.
Vanaz Depot recently installed the infrastructure required for Metro rake maintenance and washing. “All of the building structures that are required for Metro maintenance are being prepared,” the source continued.
Between Vanaz and Garware College, there are five stations that span a five-kilometer distance. A trial run between Vanaz and Garware College was held on July 30.
With the inauguration date in mind, Maha-Metro officials have begun training local drivers and expanded trail runs between Pimpri and Phugewadi, a distance of 5.8 kilometres.
Before the public service begins, at least 30 drivers are trained. They’re all seasoned drivers who are getting ready. Officials are keeping an eye on tracks, signals, and other equipment while on trial routes,” they added.
