Background and efforts to resume operations

The airline's current situation stems from its voluntary insolvency filing in May, which led to a suspension of flights. Go First attributed this move to delays in receiving engines from US-based manufacturer Pratt and Whitney, which forced a portion of its fleet to be grounded. The resulting impact prompted the airline's voluntary bankruptcy filing.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) conditionally permitted Go First to recommence operations, contingent upon securing interim funding and obtaining regulatory approval. The DGCA outlined the airline's capacity, allowing it to operate 15 aircraft and conduct 114 daily flights.

Go First Airlines, with a workforce of approximately 4,200 employees, reported a total revenue of Rs 4,183 crore during the fiscal year 2021-22. The halt in flights had implications beyond the airline's operations, affecting airfares on specific routes where Go First had a presence. Despite the challenges, the airline's management remains dedicated to restoring its services and ensuring a seamless experience for its passengers.
