Harry and Meghan's Request for Air Force One Ride After Funeral Rejected

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, reportedly tried to return to America on Air Force One after attending Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, but their request was quickly rejected by the White House. Sources revealed that the idea was a "non-starter" and would have caused tension with the Palace and the new King, Charles III. Despite their earlier visit to the UK for charity engagements, Harry claimed that he was not invited on the family's private royal jet when he learned about the Queen's failing health.

The response by the White House

The couple has been making efforts to establish connections with the Bidens, with Meghan allegedly asking First Lady Jill Biden to attend the Invictus Games in 2022. However, British officials advised against the idea, and Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg led the US delegation instead. Harry and Meghan have faced challenges in their post-royal careers, recently losing their Spotify podcast contract but still holding onto their Netflix deal.
