Haryana's Chief Secretary TVSN Prasad has directed deputy commissioners to identify policy gaps that cause citizen complaints to remain unresolved. This instruction is part of the newly launched Samadhan Shivirs, which aim to address public grievances. In a communication, Prasad emphasized the need to document these policy shortcomings in detail to facilitate understanding and necessary action.
Streamlining grievance redressal
Following the launch of a Samadhan Prakoshth at the state headquarters, the Haryana government has issued a standard operating procedure (SoP) for reporting grievances and their status. The SoP requires districts to submit daily reports of citizen complaints to the chief secretary's office by 3 PM. These reports must include information on grievances received during daily morning meetings and through other channels. Each grievance should specify if it is related to policy gaps or implementation issues.
The SoP mandates that delays due to implementation problems must be documented with specific reasons and evidence. District officials are expected to provide prompt solutions. Complaints raised during daily meetings must be recorded using the prescribed format and fed into the system, ensuring that all grievances are tracked from the moment they are received.
Ensuring accountability
The SoP stresses the importance of keeping records of complaints, actions taken, and resolutions achieved. This is essential for maintaining transparency and accountability. By documenting and addressing policy gaps and implementation issues, the Haryana government aims to improve the grievance redressal process and ensure timely resolution of public concerns.
