Haryana governor calls Ambedkar’s role in inclusive India monumental

Ambedkar’s contribution to building an inclusive India is monumental, says Haryana governor

On the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, Haryana governor Bandaru Dattatreya said that Ambedkar made a huge contribution to creating a fair and inclusive India. He praised Ambedkar for standing up for the rights of the poor and the weaker sections of society.

Speaking about his work, Dattatreya said that Ambedkar was not only the main author of the Indian Constitution but also a strong voice for social justice, equality, and dignity for all. He described Ambedkar as a man who worked without rest for the betterment of Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and other underprivileged communities.

Dattatreya said Ambedkar’s vision was to build a country where everyone, no matter their caste, religion, or background, had equal rights and opportunities. According to the governor, Ambedkar helped make sure that every citizen would have a voice in the country’s future.

The governor added that one of Ambedkar’s biggest achievements was including strong protections in the Constitution to help the marginalised. He made sure there were reservations in education and jobs for SCs, STs, and other backward communities. These rules helped bring more fairness to Indian society.

Dattatreya also praised Ambedkar for pushing for laws that protect people from discrimination. These legal rights, such as the right to equality, form the heart of Indian democracy today. He said that justice and fairness were the main values that guided Ambedkar’s work.

Chief minister’s tribute

Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini also honoured Ambedkar’s memory. He visited the mini secretariat complex in Hisar and offered flowers to Ambedkar’s statue. Saini said that Ambedkar’s ideas continue to show India the right path. He added that this day is not only important for Haryana but for the entire country.

The CM said that people across India should feel proud of Ambedkar’s achievements. He also said that the nation is still working to reach Ambedkar’s dream of a developed and equal India. According to Saini, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is following Ambedkar’s ideals and is working to make India a developed country by the year 2047.

Ambedkar is known for his lifelong fight to empower Dalits and other backward communities. He believed in giving everyone equal chances in life. He not only led the drafting of the Constitution but also served as India’s first law minister.

Dr BR Ambedkar is remembered every year on April 14, his birth anniversary. Across the country, leaders and citizens pay respect to his legacy. Schools, colleges, and government offices organise events to honour his vision for India.

Through his efforts, Ambedkar helped change the way people in India think about equality and justice. His dream was to build a society where no one is judged by their caste, where everyone can get an education, and where all people can live with dignity.

Both the governor and the chief minister agreed that India must continue working towards Ambedkar’s vision. They said that by following his ideals, India can become a country that gives equal respect, rights, and chances to every citizen.
