The Haryana government has proposed three candidates for the position of Chandigarh home secretary, which became vacant on June 14 following the transfer of Nitin Kumar Yadav to a new role with the Government of India. The candidates under consideration are Haryana cadre IAS officers Amit Kumar Aggarwal (2003 batch), Mandeep Singh Brar (2005 batch), and J Ganeshan (2006 batch).

Amit Kumar Aggarwal, Mandeep Singh Brar, and J Ganeshan, all serving as IAS officers in Haryana, have been put forward by the state government as potential candidates for the Chandigarh home secretary position.
