Haryana teen's stunt video sparks outrage, boasts of cop father’s shield

Haryana teen seen sitting on moving car roof, claims cop father will protect him

A young vlogger from Haryana, Rakshit Beniwal, is under heavy criticism after a video of him performing a dangerous stunt went viral. In the video, Rakshit, who has over 41,000 Instagram followers and 70,000 YouTube subscribers, is seen sitting on the roof of a moving Mahindra Thar on a busy road. What caught everyone’s attention was his bold claim: “My father, who is a policeman, will protect me.” His father, wearing a police uniform, is seen inside the vehicle, adding to the controversy. The video, shared on Instagram, carried the caption: “Tu maar mai dekh lunga, ye kehne vaale papa hai mere” (You hit me, I’ll handle it; I have a father who says this).

The clip quickly gained traction, with over four million views in just a week. Rakshit’s profile features similar videos, including one pinned post that has garnered over 35 million views in a month. This particular video, however, has ignited a major debate online about promoting reckless behavior.

Online outrage and criticism

The video has drawn sharp criticism on social media platforms, including Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). Pune-based entrepreneur Chirag Barjatya shared the video on X, questioning the lack of accountability. He wrote, “What’s happening in Haryana? A kid is sitting on a Thar and saying his policeman dad will save him? Save him from what? High time, Mahindra should start seizing such people and cars.”

The comments section was flooded with responses condemning the act. One user expressed concern about the risks involved, writing, “This is so dangerous, not just for the kid but for everyone on the road.” Another commented on the irresponsibility displayed, saying, “This sends a dangerous message, especially when the father is a policeman.” Some users criticized Mahindra, suggesting the company should take action against such reckless acts involving its vehicles.

Rakshit’s video has brought attention to the issue of influencers promoting unsafe behaviors for views and likes. Critics argue that such stunts not only endanger lives but also set a poor example for young audiences. Many are calling for stricter regulations and accountability, especially when public figures or their family members are involved.

The incident highlights the growing influence of social media and the responsibility that comes with it. As the debate continues, it remains to be seen whether authorities will take action against Rakshit and his father for the reckless behavior displayed in the viral video.
