Noida airport partners with Haryana Roadways for bus link

Noida airport signs MoU with Haryana Roadways for seamless bus connectivity

The Noida International Airport (NIA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Haryana Roadways to provide seamless bus services between the airport and key cities in Haryana. This agreement will ensure easy travel for passengers between the airport and places like Palwal, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Kurukshetra, Chandigarh, Hisar, Narnaul, Panipat, and Ambala. The initiative is part of efforts to improve regional connectivity and provide smooth transport options for travelers.

The Noida International Airport, located in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, is expected to begin flight operations by the end of April 2025. The agreement with Haryana Roadways will come into effect once commercial flights start. Officials say the airport’s location near Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand will make it an important travel hub for the entire Delhi-NCR region.

Expanding travel options

An official from Haryana Roadways described the partnership as an important step towards improving transportation in the region. “By linking our road network with air traffic, we will provide passengers with fast and reliable travel options. This will also promote tourism, economic development, and convenience for everyone,” the official stated.

Christoph Schnellmann, the CEO of Noida International Airport, emphasized the importance of this partnership. He said that making ground transportation easy and accessible is a key part of the airport’s commitment to improving travel experiences. According to him, this partnership will help people connect to new opportunities, encourage tourism, and boost economic activity in the region.

The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) had earlier announced plans to introduce bus services linking the airport to nearby districts. A dedicated committee is conducting a survey to determine the best routes for these services. Once the government approves the plan, the bus services will be launched to ensure smooth transportation for passengers.

Noida Airport’s future plans

The Noida International Airport is expected to become a major aviation hub in North India. In the first phase, it will have one runway and one terminal, capable of handling 12 million passengers annually. Once all four phases are completed, the airport will be able to serve up to 70 million passengers per year.

The airport has been assigned the International Air Transport Association (IATA) code DXN. It will play an essential role in connecting Greater Delhi and Western Uttar Pradesh with domestic and international destinations. The airport’s concession period started on October 1, 2021, and will last for 40 years.

To make travel even more convenient, airport authorities are working with government agencies to improve access for private vehicles. They are also working with various partners to expand public transport options, ensuring that passengers have multiple ways to reach and leave the airport easily.
