Himanta Sarma reveals BJP's ambitious plan if it secures 400 seats in Lok Sabha

During a recent address at a gathering in Delhi's Laxmi Nagar, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made significant statements regarding the BJP's plans for temple construction if they secure 400 seats in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Promise of Temple construction

Sarma stated that if the BJP achieves a majority of 400 seats, they will undertake the construction of the Krishna Janmbhoomi temple in Mathura and the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi. He drew parallels with the construction of the grand Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya following the BJP's attainment of 300 seats in the Lok Sabha.

He emphasized the BJP's commitment to constructing temples as a reflection of their electoral success, indicating a pattern of delivering on promises related to religious and cultural projects.

Sarma also used the platform to critique the Congress party, highlighting their purported lack of action on issues such as Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) during their rule. He contrasted this with the BJP's stance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, expressing confidence that PoK would eventually become a part of India.

Additionally, Sarma advocated for the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the country, arguing for equality across religious lines. He questioned the disparity in marital laws between Hindus and members of other religions, suggesting the need for uniformity in civil laws.

Accusing the Congress of promoting religion-based reservations, Sarma asserted that the BJP's approach aligns more closely with the original intent of the Constitution. He argued that while the Congress often speaks about secularism, the term itself was not part of the Constitution's initial draft.
