Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni seal the deal:
The Indian doubles pair of Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni played a crucial role in establishing an unassailable 3-0 lead against Pakistan. Their clinical performance in the doubles match against Aqeel Khan and Muzammil Murtaza secured the victory for India, with a final score of 6-2, 7-6(5).
Making his debut in the Davis Cup, Niki Poonacha added to India's triumph by winning his singles match in straight sets. Facing Muhammad Shoaib, Poonacha displayed composure and strategic play, securing a 6-3, 6-4 victory. His performance earned praise from the Indian team captain, Zeeshan Ali, who highlighted the significance of Poonacha gaining experience in representing India in the prestigious tournament.
Early lead sets the tone:
India had set the tone for their victory on the first day of the tie, as Ramkumar Ramanathan and N Sriram Balaji secured victories against Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Aqeel Khan, respectively, giving India a 2-0 lead. The doubles pair's subsequent win on day two solidified the team's dominance, making the final singles match a formality.
