Jaiswal emphasized India's consistent support for a negotiated settlement in Ukraine. The upcoming summit, scheduled for June 15-16 at Burgenstock resort near Luzern, aims to facilitate peace talks after more than two years of conflict.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's 10-point peace plan includes measures to hold war criminals accountable, withdraw Russian troops, and restore territorial integrity. The plan also addresses energy and food security.

India's diplomatic relations

India's commitment to peace was reiterated during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's discussions with President Zelenskyy last year. Modi assured India's support in finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict during the G7 summit in Hiroshima.

Regarding reports of Indian staff reduction at the Canadian high commission, Jaiswal suggested it was an administrative matter. He advised reaching out to the Canadian authorities for details, adding that visa processing remains unaffected.India's stance underscores the importance of diplomatic efforts and dialogue in resolving global conflicts.
