11-year-old Florida Student arrested for making killing threats to multiple schools

An 11-year-old boy in Florida, named Carlo Dorelli, was arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot up two schools and showing off a large collection of weapons during a FaceTime call with classmates. The incident occurred on Monday, and Dorelli was taken into custody by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

During the FaceTime call, Carlo reportedly bragged to his classmates from Creekside Middle School, displaying what appeared to be numerous guns and knives. The sheriff’s office later discovered over a dozen Airsoft guns, knives, and swords at Carlo’s home. These weapons were shown in a video released by the sheriff’s office.\

Sheriff Michael Chitwood emphasized that the department will publicize the actions of juveniles involved in such threats. He stated, “Since parents don’t want to raise your kids, I’m going to start raising them.” Chitwood added that every arrest will be publicly shared, including the photos of the juveniles involved.

In the video of Carlo's arrest, he is seen in handcuffs, wearing a blue plaid shirt and black pants. As he was escorted into the sheriff's office, his ankles were shackled, and he was directed to a cell. The sheriff revealed that Carlo had made a “kill list” of targets at two schools, although Carlo claimed it was all meant as a joke.

The arrest happened shortly after a tragic incident at Apalachee High School in Georgia, where a 14-year-old allegedly shot and killed two students and two teachers.
