Israeli strike kills 21 in Gaza
Israeli airstrike on Gaza Tent Camp leaves 21 dead, Hospital reports
At least 21 people died after an Israeli airstrike targeted a camp for displaced Palestinians in Gaza, a Palestinian health official reported. The strike occurred in the Muwasi area near Khan Younis, a location housing hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals. Additionally, 28 people were injured in the attack, according to Atif Al-Hout, director of Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.
The Israeli military responded by stating it was investigating the reports but did not provide any immediate comment. Earlier the same day, airstrikes on central Gaza killed eight more people, including four children, highlighting the ongoing escalation of violence in the region.

Background and casualties
The current conflict began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas-led militants launched an attack on southern Israel, killing approximately 1,200 people and abducting around 250 individuals. Since then, over 44,500 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed in Israeli strikes, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. The Israeli military claims that its operations have eliminated more than 17,000 militants but has not provided evidence to support this figure.
The continuous airstrikes have caused significant loss of life and destruction in Gaza, with the latest attacks adding to the growing humanitarian crisis in the region.
