ISRO's Chandrayaan 3 lands with MSME support
ISRO's Chandrayaan 3 lands on Moon's South Pole with MSME support
India achieved a significant milestone in space exploration as the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully landed its lunar project, Chandrayaan 3, on the moon's south pole. This accomplishment marks India as the fourth nation to land on the moon and the first to achieve a landing on the untouched southern region. The successful mission was a collective effort involving various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
MSME's Contribution to the Success
Congratulating ISRO on this remarkable achievement, MSME Minister Narayan Rane highlighted the role played by the MSME Tool Room located in Bhubaneswar under the MSME Ministry. This tool room contributed significantly to the Chandrayaan 3 mission's success. The Bhubaneswar Tool Room, a part of the Ministry of MSME, played a crucial role in developing 54,000 aerospace components of 437 types for the Chandrayaan 3 mission. Additionally, IDEMI Mumbai played a vital role in manufacturing components that contributed to the mission's success.

Component Manufacturing Facility and Support
The Central Tool Room & Training Centre (CTTC) in Bhubaneswar specializes in producing high-precision components, including aerospace components, used by organizations such as ISRO, Aeronautical Development Agency, IISU, Hindustan Aeronautics, and more. These components have been integral to Chandrayaan missions and the manufacturing of indigenous Light Combat Aircraft.
Support from IDEMI Mumbai
The Institute for Design of Electrical Measuring Instruments (IDEMI) in Mumbai provides a range of services, including designing, development, tool room services, and testing facilities. This support extends to rapid prototyping in plastic, precision machining, injection moulding tools, and pressure die casting tools.
Collaboration for MSMEs' Benefit
SIDBI, the principal financial institution promoting and financing MSMEs in India, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Society of Indian Aerospace Technologies and Industries (SIATI). This collaboration aims to foster mutual cooperation between the institutions, benefiting MSMEs in aerospace, defense, and other sectors. SIATI represents the industry body for enterprises, including MSMEs, in the aerospace sector.
