Tragic road accident claims four lives of Jammu Family in Punjab's Tanda
Four members of a family from Jammu, including a six-year-old girl, lost their lives in a devastating road accident in Punjab's Tanda sub-division of Hoshiarpur district on Saturday morning. The incident occurred when their Toyota Innova collided with a canter near Adda Saran.
Details of the accident
The victims were identified as Farooq, his brother Arif, sister Naibu, and his six-year-old daughter Arsh. They were traveling towards Chandigarh when the collision occurred. The driver of their vehicle, Tarris, sustained serious injuries and was initially treated at Tanda civil hospital before being referred to Amritsar for further medical care.
The driver of the canter fled the scene following the accident. However, police later located the canter in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh. Tanda station house officer Gurmeet Singh confirmed that efforts were underway to apprehend the driver, ensuring he faces legal consequences for his actions.
Response and recovery efforts
Following the collision, the bodies of the deceased were transferred to Dasuya civil hospital and Rangi Ram Charitable Hospital in Tanda. Local authorities and villagers gathered at the scene, witnessing the mangled remains of the Toyota Innova.
