Khurrana and Khan team up for action comedy

Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan unite for a thrilling action comedy adventure

Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan are coming together for the first time in a new action-comedy movie. The project, written and directed by Aakash Kaushik, has already started filming. The news was confirmed by trade expert Taran Adarsh in a social media post. The film, yet to be titled, is backed by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment. This movie marks Ayushmann's first collaboration with Dharma Productions.

Exciting collaboration

Taran Adarsh shared on X (formerly Twitter): "AYUSHMANN - SARA ALI KHAN TO STAR IN DHARMA - SIKHYA’S ACTION-COMEDY. Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment reunite for an action-comedy headlined by Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan. Written and directed by Aakash Kaushik… This is Dharma and Sikhya’s third theatrical collaboration… Shooting has begun… Title will be announced soon.”

Details about the project are still under wraps, but it is expected to be a "full-fledged commercial entertainer" with plenty of action, thrills, and humor.

Recent works of Ayushmann and Sara

Ayushmann Khurrana was last seen in "Dream Girl 2," a comedy-drama directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, co-starring Ananya Panday. Released on August 25, 2023, the film was a box office success, earning over ₹100 crore. The cast also included Manjot Singh, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Asrani, Manoj Joshi, Seema Pahwa, and Vijay Raaz.

Sara Ali Khan recently appeared in "Murder Mubarak" and "Ae Watan Mere Watan." "Murder Mubarak," directed by Homi Adajania, is a murder mystery, while "Ae Watan Mere Watan" is based on India's struggle for independence. Sara's next project is Anurag Basu's "Metro… In Dino," a sequel to "Life… In a Metro." The film features a star-studded cast including Aditya Roy Kapur, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.
