Kolkata Doctor's Rape-Murder: accused exposed as serial womanizer with disturbing porn habits and four marriages

Sanjoy Roy, a 33-year-old civic volunteer, was arrested for the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College. According to police, Roy was addicted to watching violent and disturbing pornography, which they believe influenced his actions. He joined the Kolkata Police as a civic volunteer in 2019 and had a history of abusive behavior towards his four wives, leading to multiple divorces. After the crime, Roy returned to his barracks, slept, and later tried to wash away evidence, but blood spots were still found on his shoes.

Crime scene and investigation

The doctor, who was on night duty, was found murdered in the hospital's seminar hall. Her autopsy confirmed she had been raped, with injuries indicating severe violence. Blood was found coming from her private parts, mouth, and eyes, and her neck was broken. The police arrested Roy after finding his Bluetooth headset at the crime scene. Despite his mother's claim that he was innocent, evidence suggests that Roy used his connections with senior police officers to exert influence, which is now part of the ongoing investigation.
