Father of Kolkata Rape-Murder Victim Recounts Horror: ‘She Was Found Draped in a Bedsheet’

The father of a 31-year-old trainee doctor, who was brutally raped and murdered at RG Kar Hospital in Kolkata, shared the distressing experience of seeing his daughter’s body. He had to wait over three hours before being allowed to see her. In an interview, he said that when he finally saw her, she was only covered with a bedsheet, without any clothes. Her legs were apart, and one hand was on her head.

Family Seeks Justice

The grieving father expressed that his family has lost everything and now seeks justice for his daughter. He suspects that more than one person was involved in the crime. The autopsy confirmed sexual assault, finding signs of "forceful penetration" and multiple injuries on her body, along with a "white thick viscid fluid" in her private parts.

Arrest and Investigation

A Kolkata police civic volunteer, Sanjoy Roy, has been arrested for the crime. Roy was caught on CCTV entering the building where the victim’s body was found. A Bluetooth headphone, linked to Roy’s phone, was discovered near the scene. The autopsy revealed that the woman was strangled to death and sustained 16 external and 9 internal injuries. The investigation continues, with authorities probing deeper into the incident to determine if more individuals were involved.
