Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, a Republican candidate for president, has even leveraged Messi's debut game as an opportunity to raise funds, encouraging supporters to make a $1 donation for a chance to be seated in the front row.

Messi's arrival has generated immense excitement, and Inter Miami hopes to capitalize on his talent. The U.S. Open Cup semifinals, in which Inter Miami will face Cincinnati, are scheduled for late August, with the final taking place in September.
