Literati Festival returns to Chandigarh

Chandigarh to host Literati Festival on November 24-26

The eagerly awaited 11th edition of Literati, the international literature festival in Chandigarh, is set to captivate audiences from November 24 to 26. With the theme 'Navras,' the festival promises to offer a diverse literary experience.

A decade of literary excellence

The Chandigarh Literary Society (CLS), which hosts Literati, has celebrated a decade of bringing together literary luminaries from India and beyond. The festival's primary goal is to foster dialogue, discourse, and creativity across various genres and forms of literature, according to festival director Sumita Misra.

Over the course of two days, the festival will convene at the Lake Club in Chandigarh, with an inaugural event at Tagore Theatre on November 24. Supported by the UT administration, Literati aims to reflect the city's modern and vibrant spirit while solidifying Chandigarh as a literature lover's haven.

Theme: 'Navras'

This year's theme, 'Navras,' explores the nine emotions found in ancient Indian texts and their significance in different phases of life. From love and beauty (shringara) to peace and tranquility (shantha), these emotions provide the foundation for captivating stories, discussions, and sessions that will take place during the festival.

Canada is the official country partner for Literati 11, adding an international flavor to the literary celebration. Renowned authors, livewire debates, exclusive performances, and book launches are among the many attractions awaiting festival-goers.
