Mahakumbh to host three World Record attempts on Feb 24-25

Three world records to be attempted at Mahakumbh on February 24-25

The grand Mahakumbh in Prayagraj is set to witness three major world record attempts on February 24 and 25. These records will focus on cleanliness, hand printing, and transportation.

Massive cleaning drive and hand printing attempt

On February 24, 15,000 sanitation workers will work together to clean the roads of the fair area. This will be an attempt to create a world record for the largest synchronized sweeping drive. The authorities have marked specific roads for this massive cleaning effort, including Sangam Lower Road and Akhada Road.

The next day, on February 25, 10,000 people will gather at Ganga Pandal to participate in a hand printing event. This will be another record attempt, surpassing previous efforts in Mahakumbh 2019, when 7,000 people had taken part in a similar activity.

Shuttle bus operation for another record

In addition to cleanliness and hand printing, more than 500 shuttle buses will be operated on February 25. This is another record attempt, replacing the previously planned record for e-rickshaw operations. Authorities decided to switch to shuttle buses due to the massive crowds in the fair area.

Earlier, on February 14, over 300 sanitation workers participated in a large river-cleaning drive at multiple ghats. This event is now awaiting verification from the Guinness Book of World Records. If certified, it will be recognized as the largest synchronized river-cleaning campaign.

In 2019, the Prayagraj Mela Authority had already created a record for cleanliness with 10,000 sanitation workers, hand printing with 7,000 participants, and shuttle bus operations. If the 2025 attempts succeed, they will break these previous records and set new benchmarks in all three categories.
