Manipur Schools for class 1-8 to reopen from July 5
Unlocking Education: Manipur Schools Welcome Students Back to Campus from July 5!
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has declared that schools in the state will reopen for Classes 1 to 8 starting from July 5. The reopening comes after an extended closure due to ethnic clashes that occurred in early May.
This decision showcases the government's dedication to reinstating normalcy and ensuring uninterrupted education for students.
SECURITY MEASURES
In a significant move, Chief Minister Singh has revealed that the bunkers set up during the ethnic conflicts in Manipur's hill and valley districts will be dismantled. Moreover, additional state forces have been mobilized to provide security to Meitei and Kuki farmers, allowing them to recommence their agricultural endeavors.
FOCUS ON UNITY AND JOINT EFFORTS
In a press conference, Chief Minister Singh stressed the value of unity and solidarity among the different communities in Manipur, stating that they have always coexisted harmoniously and will continue to do so. He also mentioned that the creation of districts was solely for administrative convenience.
SHIFT TO PRE-FABRICATED HOUSES
The Chief Minister emphasized the active measures being taken to provide housing for those impacted by the clashes. The construction of pre-fabricated houses is progressing rapidly, with the goal of relocating the displaced individuals currently residing in relief centers within a month. This initiative plays a vital role in addressing the immediate housing needs of approximately 50,000 people affected by the situation.
