According to a report by India Today, just before his death, Anil, who was 62, made a final phone call to his daughters. He reportedly told them, “I’m sick and tired.” Malaika, who was on her way to an event in Pune, received the call shortly before his passing.
The family is deeply grieving the loss. Malaika Arora issued an official statement asking for privacy during this challenging time. She described her father as a “gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend.” Malaika’s statement also emphasized the family’s need for privacy and thanked supporters for their understanding.

Varun Dhawan, an actor, criticized the paparazzi for being “insensitive” by photographing the grieving family. He posted on Instagram, urging the media to respect the family's privacy during their period of mourning.
