All 200 MLAs in Rajasthan will receive an iPhone 13 as a gift .
After the state budget was presented in the assembly today, the Ashok Gehlot government gave each of Rajasthan's 200 MLAs an iPhone 13.
Last year, MLAs received iPads as well as a copy of the budget.
MLAs are usually given a copy of the budget in a briefcase as they leave the House after the budget is presented. This time, though, it was a stylish leather briefcase containing a brand new iPhone 13 worth between Rs 75,000 and Rs 1 lakh, as well as a copy of the budget.
The state would have spent approximately Rs 1.5 crore on the gift. The gift was well received by most MLAs, regardless of party affiliation.
State BJP president Satish Poonia, on the other hand, stated that the party's MLAs will return their iPhones. In the 200-member House, the BJP has 71 MLAs.
"It is has been agreed that all the @BJP4Rajasthan MLAs will return the iPhone supplied by the Congress government, keeping in mind the financial strain on the state government," he tweeted.
The Budget 2022-2023 of the Ashok Gehlot government is focused on the upcoming elections at the end of next year. There were several benefits for the average man, including a government-subsidized reduction in electricity bills.
A MNREGA-style urban job guarantee scheme was also included in the budget, which will offer the urban poor with 100 days of employment.
The budget recommended a return to the old pension scheme for state government employees, who are key in the political spectrum. The previous government established a pension fund into which employees were required to contribute 30% of their income. However, the Gehlot administration repealed this, stating that all government employees will receive standard pensions.
The tourist sector in the state has also been designated as an industry.
Furthermore, the chief minister offered a distinct budget for farmers for the first time. The government has vowed to carry out 11 missions to help farmers earn more money.
The opposition, on the other hand, chastised the government for erecting castles in the sky and questioned whether the promises would be kept.
