Murder accused in Kolkata Jail demands Egg Chowmein
Kolkata Doctor's Murder accused Sanjay Roy demands Egg Chowmein in Jail, faces backlash
Sanjay Roy, the main accused in the Kolkata doctor’s rape-murder case, is currently detained at the Presidency correctional home in Kolkata. He reportedly became upset when he was served the standard prison meal of roti and vegetables. According to reports from News18, Roy demanded to be served egg chowmein instead. However, his request was denied as prison rules require all inmates to eat the same food. After being reprimanded by the jail staff, Roy eventually accepted the meal.
Roy’s behavior in custody
When Roy was first transferred from CBI custody to the correctional home, he requested extra time to sleep and was observed muttering to himself. However, after a few days, he appeared to return to his normal state. So far, the investigation into the doctor’s rape-murder case has led to only one arrest—Sanjay Roy, who remains in judicial custody.
