NEET-UG 2024: NTA informs Supreme Court video of Telegram paper leak is 'Fake'

Recently, the NEET-UG 2024 exam has been embroiled in controversy, with allegations of irregularities and a potential paper leak circulating. The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting NEET, has refuted these claims, asserting that there is no evidence of widespread malpractice or localized advantages affecting the results.

In response to petitions filed in the Supreme Court regarding the alleged irregularities, both the Centre and NTA have submitted affidavits outlining their stance. The NTA emphasized that an analysis conducted by IIT Madras indicated a normal distribution of marks, resembling a typical bell curve seen in large-scale exams. This analysis, they argued, dispels any suspicion of abnormal scoring patterns.

Addressing concerns over viral videos on social media suggesting a paper leak via Telegram, the NTA clarified that these videos were fabricated. Ahead of a scheduled hearing, the NTA affirmed its reliance on the findings from the IIT Madras report during the court proceedings. Meanwhile, the Centre highlighted that only a small number of candidates, 47 in total, were suspected of involvement in potential irregularities related to the exam, primarily concerning OMR sheets.
