NIA to lead probe into fatal firecracker factory blast in West Bengal
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is set to take charge of the investigation into the tragic firecracker factory explosion that claimed nine lives in West Bengal. A team from the NIA is scheduled to visit the blast site in the North 24 Parganas district, aiming to submit a report to the Union Home Ministry by Monday evening.
The explosion, which occurred recently, has raised serious questions about safety regulations and oversight in the firecracker industry. Preliminary findings indicate that the factory did not possess a valid license to operate. One individual has been apprehended and charged under relevant explosive laws, and further cases have been registered.
